Balfour St Barts Wedding Photographer

Hector and Phil got married in a small ceremony abroad last year, but they still wanted to have a party with all their friends and family. So towards the end of 2022 they booked Balfour St Barts for their belated wedding reception, opposite the world famous Smithfield Market, and I was there to capture it all.

Guests arrived first for drinks, with the grooms arriving fashionably late to make an entrance, always the best way! Canapés were constantly flowing out of the kitchen and I won’t lie, I had a few and they’re absolutely delicious.

Then onto the three course meal in the main bar, set out with a horse-shoe arrangement of tables, plus another table at the back. Hector and Phil had graciously arranged a main course for me (I went for the halibut, I like to keep it light when I’m working!) and the events team made sure I was always fed and watered, they’re great people to work with.

After the meal there was a brief interlude upstairs in the snug bar for Espresso Martinis while the downstairs space was cleared for dancing. When the Martinis kicked in, the dancing kicked off!

It was my first time at Balfour St Barts, but it won’t be my last. Later this year I have a couple of full-day weddings booked that start with a small ceremony at two of London’s most famous register offices (Old Marylebone Town Hall, and Chelsea Old Town Hall) and finish up with the reception at 66 West Smithfield Street, and I’m looking forward to it. It’s one of London’s best ‘pub wedding venues’ for a good reason.

Here’s some of my favourites from H&P’s wedding reception. If you’re looking for a Balfour St Barts wedding photographer and like what you see please do get in touch for a chat any time. Cheers!
