Three words: don’t say cheese! If I was describing my wedding photography style to Google’s search results I’d go with things like reportage, documentary, candid, natural, observational, unobtrusive, maybe even ‘experiential’ (ooh, that’s a good one!) but it all comes down to this: forget about me and enjoy yourselves.

I want your photos to feel like being there, full of real, intimate, messy moments, so you can enjoy it on the day and relive it all later. That’s the kind of photography I love, so that’s what I do.

There’s one small exception and that’s when we do some portraits of you guys, usually after we’ve done a few family group shots. We’ll spend maybe half an hour at most getting away from the crowd and making something a bit more artistic. No ‘posing’ skills required, I’ll give you as much direction as you need, but I’ll definitely never ask you to pretend you’re a lemur.

My ‘all day’ approach includes pre-wedding prep to the evening party. For me that’s the only way to tell the whole story – be there for all of it! I’ll start with prep in the morning, and wrap up after the party has hit full swing that evening. That’s about 9-10-ish hours usually, but this way you won’t have to watch the clock.

For smaller weddings I can finish just after the confetti, the speeches, or the first course of lunch, whatever you like. I’ve got packages for 90 minutes, 3 hours, and 5 hours, or for total flexibility I have an hourly rate too.

At least 550-600 from a full day, but usually more. There’s no limit, your gallery and downloadable zip includes the best photo from every moment I catch, all fully edited. For engagement and couples sessions there’s normally at least 30-40 from a 60-minute session.

Ohh yes, I do albums. Albums are the best bit. I think wedding photographs without an album are like ice cream without a spoon, gin without tonic, movies without popcorn. Printed photos truly are the best way to cherish your favourite photos for decades to come, and a well made album is something you’ll never regret investing in. So if your photos will mean anything to you in years to come, please don’t skip the album.

You can order your album from me any time before or after your wedding, with a handy discount for ordering before. There’s a choice of finishes to fit all budgets, super-discounted mini copies for parents, and every main album includes design by me with feedback from you until it’s just right.

Sure, if you’d like them. I think even if you’re not that into posed photos it’s nice to have all of your favouritest people in one group, and I bet your parents and grandparents will love them.

But don’t forget the best photos happen back at the party so I highly recommend sticking to half a dozen or so, and I’m happy to help you work out the best groups in advance so it’s dead easy on the day.

I’ll go wherever you’re going. My all-day price includes travel across England and Wales. All you need to pay is any hotel fees, and the cost to travel further afield. Even if your wedding is abroad my package price is the same, you just pay travel and board on top.

Yep, up to five million pounds. I’m fully covered with Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance from a company that specialises in photographers. If you or any of your venues need to see documentation that’s no problem.

Things are looking up, and by July I’ll be completely vaccinated, but I’m still being vigilant. What a disaster 2020 was, so many unfortunate couples had to cancel all their plans for that year and move them at least once, sometimes twice or more. But it’s better safe than sorry, so let’s look forward and move on.

Obviously I wear a mask indoors, use hand sanitiser, and keep my distance. For now the biggest impact is during indoor ceremonies where I’m typically not allowed to move once I’ve chosen a spot. But at receptions, especially if you have some outdoors space, I’m usually able to capture the same sorts of candid photos you’ll find all over my website.

The guidance updates often so if you have any questions about the current situation and how it might affect your plans, please do ask.

Please do ask! I’ll send over my investment guide which includes a much bigger FAQ section, but if your questions aren’t covered there drop me a line and I’ll be happy to chat through anything you like.

"From our very first meeting we knew that he understood exactly what we were after, and when the photos came back he had captured wonderful, intimate moments, as well as a stunning album we will treasure forever. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Owen - he's a rare talent."
