Let's share the love!
Hello, fellow wedding supplier! If you’re reading this we must have worked together at a wedding, and if I’ve got any photos of your work (hopefully there’s at least a couple) I’d love to share them with you. Whatever you brought to the party you helped make everyone happy, which made my job that bit easier, so thank you very much and I’m pleased to pay it forward. There’s a free option for social media and websites, and a Very Reasonably Priced paid option for commercial use like advertising, so check them out below and I’ll get you sorted out.
The Paid Option
I charge a small fee to use images in a paid advertising campaign outside of Facebook or Instagram – so for example, a print campaign in magazines or newspapers, or a digital campaign on Google Ads.
The basic fee for one year of paid PR/advertising use is £35 per photo, and we can work out a very generous discount if you want to use several images this way. For other commercial use beyond ad campaigns just get in touch with the details and we’ll work out a custom fee.
The Free Option
If you just want to use them in-house, or on your social media or website, or in freely-distributed printed brochures, flyers, etc, there’s no charge*. All I ask instead is these three little things:
1. Always include a photographer credit. On social media include a credit in the main caption, please. On a blog post just wherever you normally credit photographers is fine. If you have a Recommended Supplier page I’d be honoured and grateful to be added if you have space – if you do I’ll make a HUGE fuss over you and your services on my social media and website – thank you so much! Here’s the credit or link to copy and paste:
• Instagram & Facebook: @owenbphoto
• Website & other online use: Owen Billcliffe / owenbweddings.com
2. Please don’t edit the images. So stuff like Instagram filters, black & white, or other edits like that to ‘improve’ or otherwise change how they look. I do appreciate some vendors have an ‘aesthetic’ they want to match on their feed but I put a lot of effort into finishing the photos in my own style so please don’t change them, thank you!
3. And please try not to crop them. Square crops especially cut out a lot of the good stuff! If it’s a detail shot, like flowers or table settings, it doesn’t matter as much, but for everything else please post the full-sized image. These days Instagram seems to post full-width images by default, although vertical images are always cropped a little bit shorter, but that’s okay.
How To Select & Download Images
If you’ve not got the gallery link yet then I’m happy for the client to share it with you, or you can email me on owen@owenbphoto.com. If you’ve got the link just login and you should be able to download web-sized images for free. I strongly recommend against simply taking screenshots as they won’t be the best quality!
You can either download images one at a time as you find them, using the button on each image. Or, you can use the Heart button to ‘favourite’ all the images you like, and then click the Download button in the top menu bar where you’ll be able to download all your favourites in one go.
If you have any issues downloading don’t worry, it may just be a gallery setting at my end. For now just favourite the photos you want (the heart button) then email me at owen@owenbphoto.com and I’ll send them over.
Finally, please bear in mind the couple are not actually licensed to supply our work to you so for boring copyright reasons please go through my gallery to re-download your own copies. That also ensures you’ve got the best quality!
Get in touch if you have any questions…
You can email me directly on owen@owenbphoto.com, and I’ll be happy to help. Thank you!
The Small Print
We retain ownership and copyright of all images in perpetuity. If images are used outside of the agreed use we reserve the right to charge for such use, and/or cancel further use.
* Free images are not available to suppliers charging us a referral fee for this wedding; and bear in mind the couple are not licensed to supply you with copies of our work themselves.
