Frequently asked questions
For an ‘all day’ wedding I’ll be with you up to ten hours, from pre-wedding prep to the evening party. For me that’s the only way to tell the whole story – be there for all of it! Your story starts with getting ready in the morning, so that’s when I’ll start, and stay with you until the party’s in full swing that evening. Ten hours usually covers it but you can book me for longer if you want.
For smaller weddings I can finish just after the confetti, the speeches, or the first course of lunch, whatever you like. I’ve got packages for 90 minutes or 3 hours, or for total flexibility I have an hourly rate too.
Every wedding is different, but for an all-day wedding I usually deliver at least 500 finished images, and for a 90-minute booking around 150 images – but often a lot more. There’s no limit, your gallery and downloadable zip file includes the best photo from every moment I catch, all edited in my personal style. For engagement and couples sessions there’s normally at least 30-40 from a 60-minute session. When everything’s finished you’ll receive a link to a private gallery website, where you’ll be able to view everything and download your personal digital archive in high resolution. You can also share the link with whoever you like.
You bet I do albums – they’re the best bit! I think wedding photographs without an album are like ice cream without a spoon, gin without tonic, movies without popcorn. Printed photos truly are the best way to cherish your favourite photos for decades to come, and a well made album is something you’ll never regret investing in. So if your photos will mean anything to you in years to come, please don’t skip the album.
You can order your album from me any time before or after your wedding, with a handy discount for ordering before. There’s a choice of finishes to fit all budgets, super-discounted mini copies for parents, and every main album includes design by me with feedback from you until it’s just right.
Absolutely. I think even if you’re not that into posed photos it’s nice to have all of your favouritest people in one group, and I bet your parents and grandparents will love them.
But don’t forget the best photos happen back at the party so I highly recommend sticking to around 8-10 groups, and I’m happy to help you work out the best groups in advance so it’s really easy on the day.
I don’t offer wedding videography I’m afraid. I love the power of photography so that’s what I specialise in. Even just setting up a camera to record the ceremony would be too much of a distraction from my responsibilities as your photographer, so I stick to what I love most. But if you’d like professional video of your wedding day I can recommend some very skilled wedding film producers I’ve worked with before.
I’ll go wherever you’re going. Anywhere more than 40-ish miles from Kingston upon Thames may require me to travel the night before just to ensure avoiding any travel delays on the day (it’s all too easy to get stuck in two hours of stand-still traffic between cities). Generally I’m happy to sort out my own travel and accommodation, and add the expenses to the final invoice.
Yep, up to five million pounds. I’m fully covered with Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance from a company that specialises in photographers. Documentation available on request.
It’s only happened once in 15 years, thanks to COVID-19, and I was able to replace my services with an excellent wedding photographer from a network I’m part of. So if I’m struck down before your wedding and won’t be able to make it, I’ll ask around to see who’s available and send you their details so you can decide if you’d like them to replace me. You’re not obligated to accept my suggestions – if you want to make your own arrangements I’ll refund you in full.
We handle all changes on a case-by-case basis. Generally speaking if the government or a local authority brings in public health rules that ban weddings we’ll always try to move your booking without any additional costs, so long as we’ve been kept informed at every step (i.e. before you officially change the date or venue) but we can’t always promise to offer this.
Please do ask! I’ll send over my investment guide which includes a few more FAQs, but if your questions aren’t covered there I’ll be happy to chat through anything you like.
So... what's next?
If you like what you see get in touch with your date and venue and if I’m available I’ll send you a link to my full Investment Guide. If that looks good we can arrange a time to have a chat and take it from there.
