Hurlingham Club wedding

I got some amazing shots of the ceilidh dancing at Sophie and Paul’s Hurlingham Club wedding, it was definitely a spirited end to their wedding day! It all started at Sophie’s parents house for her bridal prep, and I absolutely loved the bright yellow walls in the stairwell. With bridal prep photos I really don’t like to guide you or stage anything. It’s as much about the ambience and the details as it is you getting ready, so there’s plenty of nice moments to be found and I love this part of the day.

From Putney it’s just a short taxi ride to the Hurlingham Club where I met Paul and his groomsmen as guests arrived and filled up The Terrace Room. There’s a couple of locations at the Club where you can get married, and The Terrace Room was a great choice. With those floor to ceiling windows all along one side, and huge mirrors all along the other, plus the half-glass skylight ceiling, it’s a great venue for a bright wedding day ceremony.

Then there’s the lawn and seating outside for guests to enjoy, before taking over the banquet room for dinner and dancing. Plus, we get to make some lovely portraits together in the Hurlingham Club gardens – and we had some fun later in the day making something a bit more dramatic once everyone had cooled down a bit outside, after the excitement of the ceilidh on the dance floor.

If you like my reportage-style wedding photography and you’re planning your own London wedding or destination wedding (or know of someone who is) I’d love to have a chat about it – just get in touch to say hello and we’ll take it from there.
