Lara and Guy got married in a small ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall, before heading down the road to The Surprise for drinks and lunch in the private room upstairs.
We actually did things in a slightly different order than usual, as they had The Surprise booked for about 15 minutes after their ceremony. So we did their couples portraits first, going for a walk through the gardens by St Luke’s church, and then a little wander through the Chelsea back streets, before making our way back for the ceremony.
It was also raining just a teeny tiny bit, so a couple of the group shots squeezed into the space at the top of the steps – the best advice I can give you for rain is bring umbrellas and make a feature of it! I don’t mind getting a bit wet but let’s keep you two as dry as we can.
I’ve been to The Surprise a couple of times now, once to meet the groom before Tara & Ed’s Chelsea wedding, and now for the reception afterwards, and I can highly recommend it for small weddings! Great staff (who took good care of me, very kind), great food, and lots of lovely daylight pouring in through those huge windows.
Here’s some of my favourites from their wedding gallery – if you like my style of wedding photography why not let me know your date and we can have a chat?
