Mayfair Library Wedding

The story of how David proposed to Kristen is fraught with danger – a mountain trek, motor-skis, a blizzard, and a snow-bound lodge they almost never made it to… But thank goodness they did.

I first met Kristen and David, both Canadians relocated to London, via another lovely Canadian couple whose engagement party and wedding I had photographed last year, Julie and Andrew. So many of my favourite couples meet me at their friend’s wedding, and it’s so lovely to arrive at a wedding and see friendly faces!

Here’s some of my favourites from the ceremony at London’s Mayfair Library, along with some cute ‘First Look’ pictures beforehand, and some lovely portraits of them both. A lot of couples ask me about a First Look, and I really love them – you don’t have to wait until the ceremony to see each other, and a first look gives you a quiet moment together to be all smushy before all the guests arrive, because it all gets very busy for you for the rest of the day!

After the ceremony we had a little champagne reception in Mount Street Gardens and then we all headed off to Picture Restaurant in Great Portland Street, for some amazing cocktails and a delicious lunch. A small gathering of friends makes for some of the best receptions, and the atmosphere at Picture was fantastic – lots of natural light flooding in through the skylight, and a lot of love amongst all the friends and family invited to celebrate Kristen and David’s wedding. Enjoy!
